Greenbuild, the world’s largest conference and expo dedicated to sustainable design and construction practices, was held in San Francisco from November 12 – 16, 2012.  MSKTD’s Director of Sustainability, Landon Chapman, LEED AP, was among the more than 30,000 design and construction professionals who participated in the outstanding educational sessions, specialized workshops and networking events.  Chapman attended numerous sessions including Environmental Analysis and BIM; Logistics of LEED v4; Integrative Design Process and LEED; and LEED v4 – Tools and Resources.

Understanding the LEED for Healthcare Rating System was another session that particularly piqued the interest of MSKTD’s HealthCare Group.  Chapman is sharing his insights on the subject via a two-part, in-house presentation.  MSKTD looks forward to continuing to share our knowledge and expertise with all of our clients.  But our healthcare clients may find this to be of particular interest in 2013!

The U.S. Green Building Council recently announced that over one billion square feet of commercial projects had been certified. Part of that was achieved with the Sweetwater Sound headquarters which achieved LEED Platinum. We also have a number of projects with Ball State University and Ivy Tech Community College that are registered and working towards certification. But whether or not our clients choose LEED certification, we understand the dynamics of image, function, environment and technology; efficiency, sustainability, and expandability, and we strive for the very best for our clients.

Indianapolis – It has been some time since one word garnered the attention, and often times disdain, that “Green” has recently received.  In the corporate and political worlds, Green is most often used in conjunction with Green Buildings, or Green Architecture.  So, it stands to reason that companies large and small are increasingly seeking knowledge on this very subject.

As a world leader in pharmaceuticals with hundreds of facilities across the globe, Eli Lilly & Co., is no exception to this growing trend and will be hosting their annual “Energy Day” symposium this October 20, 2010.

MSKTD is pleased to announce that two of our associates, Mr. Landon Chapman, LEED AP and Mrs. Mandy Bordeaux, LEED AP, will be presenting an informational webinar regarding sustainable design and its role, integration methods, and cost savings opportunities when correctly applied to a large corporation such as Lilly.

Mr. Chapman is a graduate architect and LEED Accredited Professional and has been extensively involved with the Indiana Chapter of the United States Green Building Council for the past 4 years.  Currently, he holds the positions of Vice-Chair of the Central Indiana Branch Chapter and Programs Committee Chair of the Central Indiana Branch Chapter in addition to serving on the State of Indiana Chapter Board of Directors.  Mr. Chapman will be providing an overview of sustainable design, green building practices, and integration into a corporate setting.

Mrs. Bordeaux is a graduate architect and LEED Accredited Professional with extensive experience in the field of sustainable design and its implementation into large scale buildings.  She will be presenting the LEED Platinum Certified Sweetwater Sound corporate headquarters, located in Fort Wayne, IN and designed by MSKTD & Associates.
