Lutheran Hospital Expanding Emergency Department

MSKTD is excited to design the new Emergency Department at Lutheran Hospital.  The renovations and additions to the department will improve the experience that patients, family members, and staff have when dealing with an emergency.   The total project is estimated to cost $6.1 Million and encompass a total of 28,000 square feet.  The most notable improvements include:

Addition of a CT Suite dedicated to the Emergency Department providing immediate access for critical patients;

Additional private trauma rooms to increase patient privacy, comfort, and satisfaction;

Creation of a “results waiting room” to minimize patient wait times in exam rooms; and

New 8-bed Observation Unit so that patients can efficiently receive care as their treatment progresses, freeing ED/Inpatient rooms for additional patients.

Many other details and features will make the newly renovated Lutheran Emergency Department much more patient-centric!  The project is anticipated to be finished in the summer of 2018.  Learn more here!

Cancer Resource Center – Grand Opening Today!

Located in the first floor lobby of the IU Health Simon Cancer Center, the Cancer Resource Center (CRC) had its Grand Opening today – Nov 29. The CRC is a unique space designed for counseling and a variety of amenities that will educate and comfort patients as they begin their journey against cancer. This project was designed by MSKTD and built by Wurster Construction. The CRC was made possible through the collaborative support of the American Cancer Society, Cancer Support Community, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Little Red Door, and Susan G. Komen Foundation. Together with these five community organizations and IU Health, MSKTD is pleased to make a positive difference in the lives of those fighting cancer.

At 11:00 AM today, Indiana University dedicated their new IUPUI residence hall- North Hall. This 172,000 square-foot facility is the first new traditional residence hall since the campus was formed in 1969. MSKTD is the Architect of Record for the 2-tower complex which houses 700 students in an urban setting.

While the primary function is providing students with single and double-occupancy room accommodations, today’s collegians expect much more. North Hall features many amenities including a grand lobby area with a kitchenette and break-room, micro-lounges spread throughout each floor, a computer room, fitness room, laundry facility, large programming area and two classrooms. Exterior spaces are nicely landscaped creating additional social and gathering spaces for students as well. This new residence hall is a huge success for Indiana University and the IUPUI Campus in downtown Indianapolis!
