Purdue University - Niswonger Aviation Technology Building Addition

The new academic complex supports the Aviation Technology faculty in taking additional national and global leadership roles in learning, discovery, and engagement for the aviation industry. Construction and renovation of the combined facility addressed departmental needs for new classrooms, collaborative areas for research and student team building, and office space.
The new Aviation Technology complex provides the department with a new "front door" befitting a world-class academic unit, promotes cohesiveness among sections, and more effective integration of related disciplines. This facility was designed to meet LEED standards and was part of a program to interject new technology into the building. The large atrium space retained existing building components with historical significance while providing collaborative student space.
