Indiana Medical Associates
The 35,000 s.f. total interior expansion and renovation of a multi-specialty group's home medical office suite and endoscopy center suite. The healthcare practice, occupying the entire 2nd floor of MOB I, expanded into 12,000 s.f. of new building shell space constructed by Lutheran Hospital of Indiana. The medical office grew from 20,000 s.f. to 29,000 s.f. and the Endoscopy Center grew from 3,000 s.f. to 6,000 s.f.
A new main entrance lobby with reception, fronting on the hospital's new two level commons area, greets patients and guests. A patient hall then leads to both of the facility's two waiting lounges. One of the goals was to devote as much of the renovated space as possible to patient areas. The physicians agreed to forsake the traditional individual private doctor's office for physician office suites; one suite each for the five medical specialties. The office suite concept, which utilizes space much more efficiently, allowed for a greater number of exam rooms and related patient space. The total number of exam rooms increased by 35%.
