In our continuing efforts to provide quality client service, MSKTD has committed to Revit as our primary design tool for building information modeling (BIM). BIM allows greater sharing of resources between disciplines through all stages of the building and design process, as well as benefiting our clients in the maintenance of their buildings. With Revit as the industry's leading software application for BIM, MSKTD designers and engineers began training spring of 2008, with a realized goal of conversion by the end of 2009.
Our designers use Sketchup and REVIT to create computer models, renderings and walk-throughs. Services include large document scan conversion, in-house digital printing, project-based web storage and distribution.
For file distribution throughout programming and construction, MSKTD has a secure website, which requires a username and password to access. This site is used for the distribution of files and managing projects electronically.
Sustainable Design

As proponents of environmentally responsible design, MSKTD is a member of the
U.S. Green Building Council and has several LEED
® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) accredited architects on staff.
We currently have several projects registered with the USGBC to achieve LEED certification. These projects are in various stages of design, construction and certification, totaling over $138 mil in construction dollars. The project that recently attained certification is the largest LEED Platinum Certified project in the state of Indiana:
Sweetwater's $35.0 mil state-of-the-art 150,000 s.f. office/warehouse/distribution/ auditorium complex in Fort Wayne. This facility is 1 of only 2 LEED Platinum certified projects in the state and the only commercial building.
Two completed projects waiting on certification are Ball State University's $21.0 mil
David Letterman Communication & Media Building (pursuing Silver certification) and the Indiana Underground Plant Protection Services Building (anticipate LEED certification) in Greenwood, Indiana.
Others in either design or under construction are the
BSU Student Recreation & Wellness Center (anticipate LEED Silver certification), Ivy Tech College Northeast New Technology Center and Student Life Center renovation (anticipate Silver certification), and
Ivy Tech Sellersburg's new classroom building (anticipate Silver certification).

Retro Commissioning (RCx)
Retro Commissioning (RCx) (similar to but more comprehensive than an energy audit) is the process by which MSKTD & Associates, Inc. can assist you in identifying and implementing low cost, no-cost and cost effective improvements to your existing building systems operations to maximize efficiency and occupant comfort.
Investigation Process:

Building physical survey

Building design documents survey

Building automation survey

Building manager survey

Utility energy use audit

Test-and-balance audit

Thermographic survey

Illumination survey
Analysis & Reporting Process:

Identify code deficiencies

Identify energy waste

Identify comfort deficiencies

Recommend and prioritize solutions

recommend methods to implement solutions

Verify improvements
